• How does Sky HD Work? The TV you watch at
home is broadcast using a format called PAL. A PAL picture displays 576 visible rows of pixels on the screen whilst High Definition uses 720 lines scanned progressively or
1080 lines with interlaced scanning meaning that more than four times the number of pixels are used to create the picture, giving you much more detail than previously seen on
television.
