What is Sky's TV satellite System?
Sky's digital satellite system is the equipment that allows customers to receive Sky TV
programming. Every Sky digital satellite system includes three components: a satellite dish with universal lnb, a digital satellite receiver (called a Sky Digibox) and a remote control.
Every Sky digibox gives you access to a customisable on-screen programme guide (EPG), and more than 100 quality entertainment, sport, movie, documentary, music, kids and news
channels, as well as 160 non subscription TV and radio channels on digital satellite.
Can I install the digital satellite dish myself?
We recommend you contact your local TV shop to get a satellite dish installer to do it for you or click here if you want to do it yourself!

Before you subscribe
My landlord won't let me set up a dish!
By law, he must give you access to TV services in your native language. This right is
provided in the "Freedom of Information" Act under EU law and must be granted in all EU member countries. Speak with your landlord and tell him you about the EU law. Ask him where
and how to set up a dish to disturb him and others the least. If he is unwilling to help or won’t allow you to install a satellite dish, speak with your lawyer.

What do I need?
To subscribe you will need a credit card (Mastercard, Eurocard or Visa), a satellite system has to be aligned with
ASTRA 2 at 28.2° East and a Sky digibox with a valid Viewing Card that can be ordered through us.

Billing & Payment
The amount on my bill is not the amount I expected
If you have made any changes to your viewing package or requested an adjustment to the day on which you are normally billed, there will be an adjustment to ensure that you are
billed the correct amount.
This could result in your bill being more or less than your previous subscription bill but, as
long as you don't request any more changes, this will run normally again from your next billing date.
You should also check any additional purchases you have made over and above your subscription, for example Sky Box Office events.

Reinstating the account after it has been blocked due to non-payment?
If your account has been blocked due to non payment you have a message on the screen saying "please call this number to upgrade your subscription"
You would have to send us an e-mail and we will do a one-off payment through your credit card to clear the outstanding balance and switch your viewing back on.

How can I update my payment details?
If you are the Sky account holder and it is your own payment details that you are
requesting to change then you can do this by sending us an e-mail with your new credit card information.

How will I be billed for my Sky package?
As soon as your installation is complete and your viewing is set up you will be billed monthly in advance.
Your subscription fee will be taken from your credit card.

I don't understand the period my bill covers
You are billed monthly in advance e.g. if your payment date is the 1st January, your payment will cover the period from 1st January to 31st January; if it is the 15th January then
it will cover the period from 15th January to 14th February.

How much does Astrosat Service cost me?
After the first 12 months you pay a renewal fee of 175 Euros for each subsequent year.
How long is the minimum contract with Sky for?
The minimum subscription period is 12 months.

Can I change my subscription package after I have ordered?
You can change your subscription either before your viewing commences or after the first month in accordance with the terms of your subscription contract.

(Standard Sky Digiboxes)
Std. Sky Digibox - I have a blue screen with search & scan banner
From the channel displaying the Blue screen and banner, select channel 501 (Sky News) using your Sky remote control.
If there is no change, follow the instructions below to perform a Connection Check:
1. Switch your digibox on to standby using your remote control or the button on the front panel of the digibox.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your digibox.
3. Isolate the power to your digibox by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the digibox and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead, the dish input connection.
5. Restore power to your digibox and leave it in standby mode for 30 seconds. (The red
light will show on the front panel of your digibox). This time is required to allow the digibox to initialize.
6. Ensure that your TV is switched on, and on the correct channel (usually AV if you are using a SCART lead). Take the digibox out of standby mode by pressing the Sky button on
the remote control or the standby button on the front panel of the digibox.
7. The red light will turn to green on the front panel and the message "searching for
listings" will appear on screen.
8. When completed successfully the Sky Welcome* channel on Channel 998 will be displayed.
*Please note, if the Sky Welcome Channel is not displayed, please repeat procedure from step one.

Std. Sky Digibox - I have a frozen image and/or freezing or blocking of my picture
Extreme weather could be causing this problem. If it is raining hard, snowing heavily or if
snow is settling on the dish, or if you are experiencing strong or gale force winds this could cause a reduction in signal quality. Once the extreme weather has subsided your viewing
should return to normal.If there is no change, follow the instructions below to perform a Connection Check:
1. Switch your digibox on to standby using your remote control or the button on the front panel of the digibox.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your digibox.
3. Isolate the power to your digibox by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the digibox and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead, the dish input connection.
5. Restore power to your digibox and leave it in standby mode for 30 seconds. (The red
light will show on the front panel of your digibox). This time is required to allow the digibox to initialize.
6. Ensure that your TV is switched on, and on the correct channel (usually AV if you are using a SCART lead). Take the digibox out of standby mode by pressing the Sky button on
the remote control or the standby button on the front panel of the digibox.

Std. Sky Digibox - My Sky box is stuck on stand-by
The digibox can be described as "stuck in stand-by" when only the red light is illuminated
on the front panel of the box and you are unable to switch it on (green light illuminated) by use of the Sky button on your Sky remote control or the front panel stand-by button. If this
is the case, follow the instructions below to perform a Connection Check:
1. Switch your digibox on to standby using your remote control or the button on the front
panel of the digibox.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your digibox.
3. Isolate the power to your digibox by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the digibox and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead, the dish input connection.
5. Restore power to your digibox and leave it in standby mode for 30 seconds. (The red
light will show on the front panel of your digibox). This time is required to allow the digibox to initialize.

Std. Sky Digibox - Message on screen saying 'No Satellite Signal is being Received'
Extreme weather could be causing this. If it is raining hard, snowing heavily or if snow is
settling on the dish, or if you are experiencing strong or gale force winds this could cause a loss of signal. Once the extreme weather has subsided your viewing will automatically return to normal.
If this is not the case, please follow the instructions below to ensure your signal settings are correct:
1. Using your Sky remote control press "Services" followed by "4".
2. Now press "0" (number zero), "1" then the "Select" button. The "Installer Setup Menu" should now be displayed.
3. Press "1" to access the "LNB Setup" menu.
4. Press the down arrow to highlight "LNB Power Supply".
5. Press the right arrow key once to change the setting from "On" to "Off".
6. Press the down arrow to highlight "22KHz Command".
7. Press the right arrow key once to change the setting from "On" to "Off".
8. Press the down arrow to highlight "Save New Settings" and press "Select".
9. This returns you to the "Installer Setup Menu".
10.Press "1" to access the "LNB Setup" menu.
11. Press the "red" button on your Sky remote control to reset all settings.(Both the "LNB
Power Supply" and "22KHz Command" will now read "On")
12. Press the down arrow to highlight "Save New Settings" and press "Select".
13. Now press the "Sky" button to exit all menus.
If you still have no signal, please follow the instructions below to perform a Connection
check on your digibox:
1. Switch your digibox on to standby using your remote control or the button on the front panel of the digibox.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your digibox.
3. Isolate the power to your digibox by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the digibox and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead, the dish input connection.

Std. Sky Digibox - Channel unavailable
Occasionally, groups of channels may not be able to be viewed due to a problem with one of the transponders on the satellite. However, if your viewing issue is only with one channel,
please follow the instructions below:
Select the channel on your TV that Sky is normally viewed on (usually AV if you use a
SCART lead). Using the Sky remote control, press Sky and then press 501 for the Sky News channel.
If this channel can be viewed with no problems, then return to the channel which was previously affected.
If the problem is no longer apparent, check that the issue has been resolved by selecting some other channels.
This may happen from time to time but if it occurs again please try this process before calling back.

Std. Sky Digibox - I cannot get any BBC channels, ITV, ITV 2, Hallmark or the Disney Channels
If you cannot receive these channels then you have one of the following problems:
- your dish is too small (check the Astra 2D footprint) or is incorrectly aligned. - your lnb is not a universal lnb. - your lnb is broken or incorrectly aligned (skew).
- your digibox and lnb are incompatible (eg. Panasonic digibox and Grundig lnb).

Std. Sky Digibox - How to update the Sky Digibox software
IMPORTANT The software should only be updated when you are satisfied that the digibox
is able to receive signals from the satellite and that you are able to see some Sky channels such as Sky News on channel 501. Failure to do so may damage your digibox software and
render your digibox useless!
- remove the power cable from the rear of the digibox and then wait 30 seconds
- whilst holding down the ‘back up’ button on the digibox, reconnect the power cable - wait until a message appears on screen and all leds light up on the digibox
- let go of the ‘back up’ button and wait until the update has downloaded - wait 60 seconds after the red standby light appears before turning on the digibox

Sky+ - I have a blue screen with search & scan banner
From the channel displaying the Blue screen and banner, select channel 501 (Sky News)
using your Sky+ remote control. If a picture is displayed, go back to the original channel that was showing the blue screen and banner. If it has cleared, you have experienced a
temporary problem and your system should now be working as normal.
If there is no change to the picture, go to the connection check procedure below.
How to perform a Connection Check on your Sky+
1. Switch your Sky+ on to standby using your remote control or the button on the front panel of the Sky+.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your Sky+.
3. Isolate the power to your Sky+ by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the Sky+ and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead and the 2 dish input connections.
5. Restore power to your Sky+ and leave it in standby mode for 90 seconds. (The red light
will show on the front panel of your Sky+). This time is required to allow the Sky+ to initialize.
6. Ensure that your TV is switched on, and on the correct channel (usually AV if you are using a SCART lead). Take the Sky+ out of standby mode by pressing the Sky button on the
remote control or the standby button on the front panel of the Sky+
7. The red light will turn to green on the front panel and the message "searching for
listings" will appear on screen.
8. When completed successfully the Sky Welcome* channel on Channel 998 will be displayed.

The cables connecting in to the Sky+ from the dish may be loose.
This may be resolved by carrying out a Connection Check procedure as follows:
1. Switch your Sky+ on to standby using your remote control the button on the front panel of the Sky+.
2. The red light will be displayed on the front panel of your Sky+.
3. Isolate the power to your Sky+ by unplugging or switching off at the wall socket and ensure there are no lights on the front of the box.
4. Ensure all the Sky+ and TV connections are seated securely. Pay particular attention to the 21 pin SCART lead, the 2 dish input connections.
5. Restore power
to your Sky+ and leave it in standby mode for 90 seconds. (The red
light will show on the front panel of your Sky+). This time is required
to allow the Sky+ to initialize.
6. Ensure that your TV is switched on, and on the correct channel (usually AV if you are using a SCART lead). Take the Sky+ out of standby mode by pressing the Sky button on the
remote control or the standby button on the front panel of the Sky+

Sky+ 160 adds additional storage capacity to Sky+. You can now record up to 80 hours of programmes.

Is it safe to leave my digibox on standby?
Your Sky box has been designed to ensure it is safe to be left on standby at all times. It is
useful to leave your Sky box plugged in as from time to time updated software is sent to your Sky box from the satellite, providing you with Sky's latest services or functions. These
updates are not possible if your box is unplugged.

What's the difference between a Sky box and Sky+ box?
Sky+ provides additional recording functionality on top of the standard Sky box features. Instead of recording using a video you can record the full digital quality onto Sky+ and view at your leisure.

is able to receive signals from the satellite and that you are able to see some Sky channels such as Sky News on channel 501. Failure to do so may damage your digibox software and
render your digibox useless!
- remove the power cable from the rear of the digibox and then wait 30 seconds
- whilst holding down the ‘back up’ button on the digibox, reconnect the power cable - wait until a message appears on screen and all leds light up on the digibox
- let go of the ‘back up’ button and wait until the update has downloaded - wait 60 seconds after the red standby light appears before turning on the digibox
